Cassi Johnson grew up in the small town of Maud, Texas. She has worked with middle school age children for most of her 15-year teaching career. Teaching mathematics is her educational passion. Cassi attended Texas A&M University-Texarkana and received her degree in Early Childhood Education in 2006. She is certified to teach PK-8th grades and is currently finishing up her Masters degree in Mathematics Curriculum and instruction at the University of Texas at Arlington. Cassi has taught 6th-8th grade math for over a decade in her home town of Maud, Texas, and prior to that she taught both Pre-K and Kindergarten in Shreveport, LA.

Cassi believes that while making student learning fun and engaging is important, building relationships with her students is as well. Seeing her students master new concepts and become more independent in their learning process is so rewarding and such a priority.

Cassi is eager to begin working with students in a one-on-one setting with Extra Mile Tutoring. She will do whatever is necessary to ensure the academic success in the students she works with!

Cassi has been with Extra Mile Tutoring since 2022.

 

She has over 15 years of teaching experience and has mostly worked with middle school age children during this time.
